Wet Wednesday

Today it rained all day...yesterday it rained all day. We all know what that means for teachers right? No recess. I feel a bit of cabin fever coming on!

Taught a senior college class today in Classroom Management about all of the different things a first year teacher Should know before beginning their school year.

I feel today is as good as any to add pictures of my classroom!
This is my classroom tree when we are covering Monkey Math Madness! Students complete all of their multiplication drills with %100 and they get to choose and take home a monkey from the tree! This proved to be a great incentive for both girls and boys!
This is one of six file crate stools I made for our math center. They are actually quite comfy and hold random things!
This is our math workshop board that helps each team know when to be at each rotation. The rotations are Teacher's Table, Go Math (seat work), Math Magician/Scootpad on the computers, Hands-on, Flashcards, or Learning Carpet.
This is where each hands-on, game, or manipulative is stored. I have since labeled each with a letter of the alphabet to make it easier to find and direct.
This is my supply station where we store all extra items that are asked for at the beginning of the year.
My cute table owls for our camping theme!
This is a front view of our reading tree, word wall, and library!

Hello Fellow Teachers/Bloggers!

This is sadly my second attempt at creating/maintaining a teaching blog. I always seem to be inspired to create one and then several weeks later I completely forget. NOT THIS TIME! I am determined to post the goings on of my classroom as I continue to teach.

This is my third year which means in the private school system it is my final year as a probationary contracted teacher. Crazy it takes three years to have the equivalency of tenure. I'm not going to complain!
This also means that next year will be my first year with student teachers in my classroom. Due to our elementary school being closely affiliated with our sister college, we have many student teachers enter our hallways. It is almost my turn!

I am a third year third grade teacher and I love every minute of it! This does not mean my love does not have different variances, because it definitely does, but I do love everything about teaching.

I ask that anyone that reads this or happens upon my blog will send out some encouragement to help keep this blog going! I have so many thoughts to share and topics I would love to discuss. I also have many vegetarian recipes to post. If interested at all, let me know!

You can also visit my teacherspayteachers site (almost everything is free or under $1) at  http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Spiffy-Teacher

Till next time----which there Will be a next time.               -Mrs. O'Connor
